Hello

I'm the Founder and Director of Stoney Brook Forest Explorers and I'm so honored you're considering this journey with us. My passion for nature and outdoor learning runs deep, and I created this school to offer children a nurturing, enriching space to explore, grow, and thrive in the natural world.

In June 2025, I completed Forest School Teacher and Director Training in Chattanooga, TN led by Jean Lomino of the Forest School Teacher Institute—an experience that solidified my belief that children are happiest and healthiest when they’re given the freedom to learn through play, curiosity, and connection to the earth. I believe nature has a healing quality—it gives children a sense of calm, builds confidence, and allows them the freedom to be their authentic selves.

As a mother to an 11-year-old son whom I homeschool, I understand how much trust goes into choosing the right learning environment. My son will be a part of our forest school community, and together we’re helping to shape a space that feels like an extension of home—welcoming, inclusive, and full of wonder. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and respected, and I am committed to fostering a culture of kindness and equality in all that we do.
